The Gertrude is an elaborate two-piece christening ensemble featuring a magnificent short couture dress layered over a removable full-length underslip. For the ceremony, the two pieces combine to create a dramatic heirloom gown measuring approximately 40 inches long with an exceptionally full 90-inch-wide skirt.

After the ceremony, the long underslip can be removed, allowing the baby to continue wearing the ornate short dress comfortably throughout the reception and family celebration—two distinctive looks in one remarkable ensemble.

The intricate layered construction, dimensional ruffles, delicate lacework and hand-finished details required many hours of careful work. A coordinating bonnet and headband complete the ensemble.
